the ouroboros is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent eating its own tail, symbolizing the cycle of life and death or infinity.
The head was sculpted in Matrix and Zbrush and scales, teeth, and eyes were added individually by hand.
The body was designed by wrapping scales around a cylinder in a helix formation and flowing the resulting shape around the curve of the ring.
The earrings were made by splitting the snake’s body in half and adding a hinge.
After determining that having them clasp at the the mouth of the snake would be impractical, small magnets were incorporated to ensure security and ease of closure/removal.
The earrings were cast as two separate pieces and assembled.
